My 2017 travel goals

Happy New Year guys! I wish you all a very happy and prosperous 2017. ??

People who know me, know that I am dead set against New Years’ resolutions. A few years ago, it was not even halfway through the year and I couldn’t even recall what resolutions I had set myself. That’s when I realised how pointless it was (for me personally, to each their own), especially when many times I couldn’t even successfully get through the first month.

I prefer to set myself some realistic goals. Goals, plans and strategies are the way. ?

I try to set goals in the different aspects of my life e.g. health, travel, education. I thought I’d share with you five goals that I am setting myself for my travels and my blog for 2017.

25 countries before 25!

If you read my 25 before 25 birthday bucket list post, you’d know that visiting 25 countries before I turn 25 is one of my goals. I will be turning 25 in October, so this will be my main travel goal for 2017. At this point in time I have visited 14 countries (check out my travel map to see which countries) so I have just over ten months to visit 11 more countries.

This month, I will be travelling to two new countries that I haven’t been to before, so that leaves me with nine more to go. I’m currently writing a new blog post of my top ten destinations for 2017 and this will help me to pick my destinations so I can start making some concrete plans. Let me know if you have any suggestions for destinations!

Go solo!

Solo travel is another birthday bucket list item; it  has been something that I’ve been considering doing for a few months now. I finally decided to take the plunge last month and booked my first solo trip to Portugal! I’ll be going in two weeks time for five days.

If all goes well, I plan to do a few more solo trips this year. If you have any advice or tips for solo travelling, then please do share them in the comments.

Get my vlog on!

Seems like I can tick creating a YouTube channel off the bucket list! If you haven’t seen my first travel vlog of my birthday trip to Budapest, then make sure you check it out! This will be the first of many travel vlogs, as I plan to vlog all of my travels this year. Make sure to subscribe to my channel so you don’t miss out!

I’m on the hunt for good travel vlogs to follow so if you have a YouTube channel or know a good travel vlog, please share the link the comments!

Fix up!

Yes, I put my hands up, I am guilty of going many weeks without uploading a new blog post. ??

The goal is to be more consistent this year. It can be really hard to make the time to blog when I am consistently working crazy hours or just really rundown from work, but this is something I really want to work on  this year. I aim to post at least once a week.

Come out of my shell!

This year, I want to engage more with other bloggers. Maybe do a few collaborations, write a guest post for another blog and also have other bloggers write a guest post for my blog.

I love that there’s a community feeling between bloggers and I really want to get more involved. I’ve already made a few blogger friends, but I’d love to connect with even more people this year. I’ve found that Facebook groups are a great way of connecting with like-minded travel bloggers or people who share my passion for travelling.

Well that’s the end of my travel goals for 2017. Like always let me know what you think in the comments! What are your views on New Years’ resolutions? Do you have any travel goals for 2017?

If you aren’t already, please do follow my blog and I will be sure to follow back!

Deuces! ??

Oh wow that’s amazing! I can’t wait to get to that point too. Yes I agree, I think everyone should definitely travel somewhere new at least once a year, if they are able.
