    1. Thank you!!! Yeah unfortunately, you do need a YouTube account in order to subscribe, but if you have a google email then you can use that to log into YouTube. Hope that helps, but if anything, I’ll always post my videos on my blog too. Thanks so much for your support!

Oh and by the way, I haven’t forgotten about the blogger recognition award, I’ve just been super busy. Sorry, I’m hoping to get it posted this weekend! ??

    1. Thank you!! Sometimes I throughly plan my trips, while others, I just kinda go with the flow. This trip was the latter. However, I always have a checklist of places I want to visit and activities I want to do. That’s just the basics of my organisation (or lack of lol), but I hope that helps! ?

  1. Fab video!! ? I was hoping to do a first ever travel vlog soon but was just wondering whether you found it easier to use your phone on the go, or use a camera for it all? Also do you have any other vlog type tips I should know before trying this? xx

    1. Thank you!!

Personally, I have never used my phone to vlog before, but if you have a decent quality phone camera and you don’t want to buy a camera just yet, then go for it! Quite a few vloggers use their phone to vlog.

I would recommend watching a lot of vlogs, to get some ideas. Try to plan your vlog before hand, decide on your vlogging style, what kind of shots you want to incorporate, etc.

When it comes to editing your video, there are tons of YouTube tutorials that can help you out. Take your time with the editing, especially if it’s your first time. I’m all about quality over quantity. Transitions and video effects can be cool, but try not to overuse them as it can become annoying.

I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, then feel free to ask. 🙂

      1. You’re welcome!

I see yeah that’s fair enough, I sometimes use a DSLR for some photos but I thought it might be a bit too heavy for vlogs to be carried around everywhere and for holding up over your head. Have you got any tips if I was to use the DSLR for vlogs just with it being the clunky weight not the most versatile for all trips for me :’) Or would you recommend any specific cameras I hear GoPro’s are meant to be quite handy?

Thank you so much for your thoughtful response for a newbie haha!! I’ve not posted a mini vlog on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H9ExaoGHGas as a starter, but I am looking to learn and progress over time to improve the quality:)

Thank you so much for your advice, I really appreciate it, I love the ’tiled’ look of your front page too, it’s fab !!!

        Cheers 🙂 x

      2. I use a mirrorless camera for that exact reason. It’s lighter and more compact, but you can still get good pictures and footage. You could also consider getting a point and shoot camera. Quite a lot of vloggers use the Canon GX 7, but I think it was a bit pricey when I was looking for a camera to purchase last year. I recently purchased a GoPro and I’m loving it! So far, I have only really used it when I went to a waterpark in Dubai and I have used to supporting footage for my trip that I am currently on, so I can’t really say too much about how good it is as a main vlogging camera.

I’d recommend getting a gorilla pod, that way the camera won’t be too close to your face when you’re vlogging and it’s just a lot more easier to hold than the actual camera. It also comes in handy as a mini tripod. I use it quite a lot to take pictures of muyself when I solo travel.

Your vlog looks cool, it’s a great start. I can’t wait to see what you do when you get a vlogging camera!

I hope that helps! If you have any other questions, I am more than happy to help out, email me at wanderlustcalls@outlook.com

        Good luck with your vlogging!??
