This time last week, I celebrated my birthday in Portugal on a solo trip.
A few years ago, when I first started solo travelling, I kind of gave up on the idea of getting any good pictures of myself while travelling. I’m hella shy and awkward, so I’m not really a fan of asking a stranger to take a picture for me. And the few times I did, let’s just say that you won’t be seeing the pictures.
Fortunately for me, I met bae (AKA my tripod) and since then my photography game has been upgraded.

So you’ve decided to take the plunge and go on your first solo trip?
To say that I am excited for you is a bit of an understatement lol.
I really want to use my platform to encourage y’all to step out of your comfort zone and solo travel. You won’t know if you like something until you try it.
But yes, that first solo trip can be nerve-racking AF! So to help you out, I’ve put together a few tips to help you get the most out of your first solo trip!

I’ve been obsessed with Lisbon since I’d seen my fellow blogger, Maya’s beautiful pictures and vlog (check out her blog).
So when I saw that Ryanair was doing deals, there was no hesitation at all and at the end of January/beginning of February, I finally got to cross Lisbon off my bucket list!
So, did Lisbon live up to my expectations? Hell to the yes!

So 2017, was definitely a year that I really challenged myself and forced myself to get out of my comfort zone.
I solo travelled for the first time in January 2017 and I have now been to seven countries on my lonesome.
Looking back now, I realise that I probably wouldn’t have tried solo travelling last year if it wasn’t for my goal to visit 25 countries before I turned 25 (check out the countries I visited and the pictures).
