What travelling means to me

Travelling for me has been an escape. An escape from stress and fulfilling the differing expectations from myself, my family and society. But it’s also more than that. I’m on this journey they call “self-discovery”. Every trip I make, I seem to find another piece of myself. But I’m also at this point of my life where I am questioning whether I should be looking for “me” or rather creating and moulding myself.

A day at Sapi Island

Picture beautiful blue skies, a white sandy beach, sparkling blue green seas and a vibrant green forest with monkeys swinging from tree to tree. This is what greeted me when we arrived at Sapi Island in Malaysia. I’m actually jealous of myself right now lol, I wish I was still there rather than here writing this blog post in a very windy and rainy London.

Gong Xi Fa Cai (Happy New Year in Mandarin)!

Last month, I spent two amazing weeks in Kota Kinabalu (KK), Malaysia. My friend who is from KK and is currently studying in London, invited me to go back home with her for Chinese New Year. This was my first time celebrating Chinese New Year and it was an amazing experience to do this in an Asian country and during the year of the monkey, which is my zodiac sign.
