As I write this post, it is less than two days until the new year. To say I am excited for 2018 would be a bit of an understatement. Y’all 2018 is gon’ be lit!
But before we go into 2018, I thought it’d be a good idea to look back on the year. I thought I’d share my top five blog posts of 2017 (based on views).
If you are quite new to my blog, you may have missed out on my previous posts, so this is a great way to check out my most popular (and hopefully helpful) blog posts.
So here are my top five blog posts of 2017:
Contents
1) If your friend doesn’t support your blog are they really your friend?
This was without a doubt one of my favourite blog posts this year.
I am not at all surprised that this is my most viewed blog post of 2017. So many of us face the issue of not receiving the support that we expected from our friends. This isn’t an issue that is limited to bloggers, you could also experience this for example when you are starting a new business.
Due to this blog posts popularity and relatability, I will be doing a follow-up post sharing ways to not let unsupportive friends hold you back and other places that you can find the support that you need.

2) Ten funny but relatable travel memes
I love travel memes, so this is one post that I really enjoyed creating, I just never expected it to be so popular.
In the new year, I will be trying to incorporate more fun blog posts like this one. If you have any suggestions of fun, travel and non-travel related, blog posts and vlogs that you would like to see, then please feel free to share them in the comments.

3) Ten tips for taking amazing pictures on your solo trip
This was another one of my favourite blog posts of 2017.
I frequently get asked how I get great pictures on my solo trips, so I of course had to share my top ten tips with y’all. I got you guys! EMOJI

4) Three ways that solo travelling can change you forever
Y’all seem to love a good solo travel post it seems!
As a solo traveller advocate lol, I find myself having conversations with a number of people about solo travelling. Although there is still many who find the idea of travelling alone crazy and lonely, there are also many more people who are now open to considering it and taking that plunge.
I love that more people are going on solo trips. In 2018, I will definitely be using my blog and YouTube channel as a platform to encourage people to try it and to also share the knowledge that I have gained from my own experiences and research to help make your own experience amazing!
If you have anything specific that you would like to cover on solo travelling, then let me know in the comments.

5) Stepping out of my comfort zone in Bucharest
Unlike the other four blog posts in this list, this is one blog post that I didn’t enjoy writing at first, but it actually turned out to be very therapeutic. The support and kind words I received from my readers and friends were amazing! I appreciate y’all so much! EMOJI
At the end of April 2017, I asked my readers to provide me with tasks to complete on my solo trip to Bucharest. These tasks would force me to get out of comfort zone, some of the tasks that were suggested were to ask a local for recommendations, introduce myself to people and ask a guy for his number (thanks again Damon lol).
Bucharest was without a doubt my hardest trip of 2017. I am extremely shy and I struggled to complete the tasks given to me. I came back feeling like I had not only let myself down but my readers and friends who had taken the time to give me a task.
However, looking back at 2017 as a whole, I can now see how far I have come. The personal growth that I and those close to me have seen in myself, makes me realise that I need to give myself a lot more credit.
We are own worst critics. Don’t let your self-doubt, self-critism and judgment stop you from making your dreams into your reality.
